Bacillus Anthracis treatment

Antibiotics are active against the Bacillus Anthracis

Name	Dosage
Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid	400 mgs + 57 mgs in 5 ml	5 - 10 days
Benzylpenicillin	8-12 million IU / day in 4-6 injections	from 7-10 days to 2 months or more
Co-trimoxazole [sulfamethoxazole + trimethoprim]	960 mgs	twice a day for 7 - 14 days
Benzathine benzylpenicillin	300000-600000 IU	once per week
Josamycin	1 g	once or twice a day between a meal
Ciprofloxacin	500 mgs	twice a day for 7 - 14 days
Doxycycline	200 mgs at first day, 100 mgs at other days	5 - 10 days
